The Faculty of Graduate Studies promotes and advances outstanding achievement in graduate education at UBC. It ensures quality and integrity of UBC graduate programs and ensures that students are provided with academic training of the highest standard in research and other scholarly activities. Its mission is to provide leadership in ensuring excellence in graduate education and support for student success.

graduate student society

The UBC Graduate Student Society provides a wide range of social services and administrative assistance to UBC graduate students including:

  • social events such as Grad Orientation
  • sports leagues
  • gradnooners: lunchtime workshops and seminars
  • a film and food festival every second Wednesday of each month
  • hosts the Graduate Student Advocacy Office
  • administers the graduate student health and dental plan, and
  • a Departmental Organization Fund, dispensed to graduate student event organizers to help cover event expenses held in the Graduate Student Centre
